A simple, illustrated textbook for children which teaches them the basic rules of logic.

Learning Logic William Lane Craig 9781502713766 Books

It seems that this book would be great for kids probably 7 and over, if they have a tutor. If the tutor has never studied logic, it might be hard for the kids to learn the material in the latter part of the book. In any event, this is a good book to get started and if the tutor or the student does not know logic by the end of the book, it will show them how to further research the subject. Very well written and the illustrations are fantastic as well.

Learning Logic William Lane Craig 9781502713766 Books Reviews

Everyone should study this book! Thinking would improve in the general population!
Espectacular! Aside from The Bible, this may be the most important book you ever get for your kids. And here's a little secret most adults don't know this stuff either, so before you give it to your kids, read it yourself and advance well beyond the average level of popular discourse among your peers.

Some people think Logic is a massive tangled web they can never make sense of, but when you realize that there are only nine basic rules of inference, it becomes clear that anyone who puts in the time can master it. Two thumbs up!
still hard to grasp but no one does this better than WLC
Dr. Craig does a good job introducing the subject for a younger reader. For an older audience (specifically on the subject of creation) look for the book "Discerning Truth" by Dr. Jason Lisle.
This relatively expensive book provides only the most cursory overview of the topic of logic. The book attempts too much and delivers too little, providing discussion about the so-called "nine rules of logic" (modus ponens, modus tollens, conjunction, disjunction, etc.) along with an absurd introduction to symbolic and quantifiable logic -- all this in a book roughly 100 pages long, with large typeset and a lot of colorful (though sometimes irrelevant) illustrations.... I would NOT recommend this book to teenagers but would advise going with Patrick Hurley's Introduction to Logic or Peter Kreeft's Socratic Logic instead.
This book might be very good for a high schooler or a college student. But in spite of the description This book is not a "simple" book for teaching "Children." I am giving it 2 stars because I feel the term children is misleading. I was looking for a book to teach my children logic, and found this book and it's terminology to be way over their heads. I am returning this book in favor of the Bluedorn's books "The Fallacy Detective" and "Thinking Toolbox." Both titles do a better job of making logic and reasoning accessible for "children."
Good book for beginners in the study of Learning Logic. I bought this because I had a difficult time following philosophical and logic arguments and thought this book would be a good place to start. Craig lays out the foundations of learning logical thinking, but it would help if he explained it more, explained his examples more, and gave more examples. I had a difficult time understanding some of the reasoning. I'm a logical thinker by nature, it appears, but I don't understand the reasons why. Good book overall. It may be better for young students only because I remember how much easier it was to understand things when I was in school so many decades ago.
